Weekend Alternative Nursing Program. As professionals who provide care 24/7, weekend staffing is unavoidable. To create flexibility for our staff and to provide opportunities for those who need to work weekend hours to meet personal and professional needs, Saint Mary’s created a Weekend Staffing Program. This program is open to nurses with Post Graduate licensure or registration, have at least two years acute care experience and are willing to make a minimum twelve-month commitment to the program. Those accepted into the program work a minimum of forty-eight hours of weekend time per pay period, forty-eight out of fifty-two weekends per calendar year. The ability to commitment to this work schedule is essential to eligibility. RNs who are accepted into the program will be paid a premium equal to one and one-half times their base rate, and will also remain eligible for any applicable weekend or shift differential.

Weekend shifts typically take place during the hours of 3:00 p.m. Friday to 7:00 a.m. Monday. Scheduling preferences will be considered and accommodated based on matching departmental needs.
